CAG Mallentin

CAG Mallentin is the first dairy CAG purchased in Germany and today forms the cornerstone of all the CAG activities in the Northern part of Germany. Next to the more than 1,000 cows that are being milked in this unit, the dairy produces a substantial part of its own feed which is managed by the crop manager in the north. CAG Kalkhorst is located in the Kalkhorster Winkel area which is known for its high quality soil and forms the basis for the cropping activities of CAG in the northern part of Germany. This 2,000 cow unit was a state-of-the-art dairy farm when it was acquired by CAG and most attention was given to overall cow comfort on this facility. Next to the dairy activities, the facility produces most of its feed out of its specialized cropping department. CAG Nessa specializes in milk production and works closely together with CAG Reichardtswerben in feed and other supporting activities. CAG purchased this 2,000 cow dairy unit in 1999 and this was also one of the more modern dairy facilities in the area with the capacity to grow most of its own feed. The facility in Reichardtswerben is the center for feed production for the CAG locations in the southern part of Germany. Also youngstock rearing and other specific activities for both CAG Reichardtswerben and CAG Nessa are centralized at this facility. This forms a unique basis for economies of scale, specialization and synergies between the two locations. Photos »
